My first intention was to get baltic birch for the cabinets. The only thing was the price and availability in my town. It was hard and people sold was was not baltic birch as baltic birch. Besides, my plan was to veneer the final boxes, so I opted for MDF, in this case HDF. I found it in 10mm thickness, so I glued two boards together to get a total thickness of 20mm. And it paid off, but a lot of work.
I got all the boards cut in the store, so I saved a whole lot of work! I didn't have a table saw, so imagine.
For inner braces and for tweeter front pannel, I had 15mm boards.
