I am no expert in sound or HIFI, I'm a very modest DIYer with some experience on speaker building, a bit on amplifiers and not much more. So I discourage myself in trying to describe the sound these speakers produce. It is also a pointless attempt. I recently moved from one house to another and the whole system sounded completely different in the new house. Worlds of difference, to be honest. Dynamics, 3D imaging, bass response... everything was new, so what I here in my house will change dramatically in your place. What I can say about these speakers is... they sound amazing in jazz and classical. I can listen at fairly high volumes for hours without getting tired. Details are engaging, bass is deep and dynamic (I won't be needing a subwoofer for sure).

Regarding requirements, I'm using an F6 build by myself, with a B3 as a preamp and the gain is definitely enough. I have never raised the volume to maximum levels, because it is simply impossible. They rock really loud with 25w plus gain.
